Eldercare checklist and strategies for long term care: informal and formal caregiving; assisted living houses and nursing home considerations; paying for eldercare, Medicaid; will, living will, advanced financial directive, advanced medical directive on eldercare estate planning; durable power of attorney (dpoa) on eldercare estate planning.
Baby Boomers provide countless hours of assistance to elderly parents at no charge. These caregivers pay with losses that extend well beyond their bank accounts. Informal or family caregiving for an elderly loved one when they are ill or disabled is expected in virtually all cultures of the world and is generally accepted as the "norm" in most developing countries.
