Forensic nursing, a relatively new specialty in the nursing field, encompasses the tasks of providing care to crime victims, collecting forensic evidence that may be significant in trials, and providing health care services to our country’s prison population. The International Association of Forensic Nurses, the professional organization for this field, develops, promotes, and distributes information relative to forensic nursing science. There are many sub specialties within this field which are examined in this article.
